The BikeMO ride starts and ends at Les Bourgeois Winery and Vineyards in Rocheport, Missouri. Rocheport is centrally located with easy access from all areas of the state. The winery is only minutes away from Columbia, a vibrant city which will provide participants with more lodging, restaurant, and entertainment choices for a great weekend trip.
The road route will pass through several historic towns along the way including Rocheport, Boonville, and Arrow Rock. There is also an additional ride option along the Katy Trail for those riders who would prefer a trail ride.
Celebrate the joy of bicycling and the Missouri Bicycle and Pedestrian Federation’s many successes on our annual fundraising ride, as we enjoy the beautiful scenery Mid-Missouri has to offer. The new route offers varying ride lengths including a full 100 mile century route through the beautiful rural countryside of the Missouri River Valley.

In the summer of 2011, several local-area cyclists who had participated in large, organized fundraising century rides for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society began to explore the possibility of staging a similar cycling event in Kansas City, to benefit local, under-served charities. Over the course of a few weeks, this idea gathered some traction and momentum, and eventually was named ‘Tour de Hope’, with a mission statement of, “Bringing hope to deserving local charities through an uncommonly fun cycling event”. The first Tour de Hope was held on Sunday, May 6th, 2012 and featured 15, 40, and 62 mile route options, including a ‘King of the Mountain’ component of 6 ‘leg-burning’ climbs on the metric century route. Attracting almost 300 cyclists in our first year, the inaugural Tour de Hope was a great success – raising over $10,000 for three local charities, while surviving one of the most colossal spring thunderstorms in recent memory!
The Sunflowers to Roses organization was created by a group of professional peers and friends who wanted to honor the memory of Chris Anthony and Jack Lockton – both lost their battles to cancer. During their battle, both men were inspired to Live Strong by Lance Armstrong’s triumph over cancer and his subsequent Tour de France victories. Sunflowers to Roses raises money and awareness to fight cancer and promotes cycling as a safe recreational family activity. The objective of the event is to promote awareness of and participation in the Sunflowers to Roses Organization’s events that appeal to a broad spectrum of people, and to raise thousands of dollars in the fight against cancer. Sunflowers to Roses kicks off the 10th Annual Sunflowers to Roses Bike Tour on August 4, 2013.
